2. Enoch SHALLCROSS [scrapbook]¹ (Joseph ) was born 9 Sep 1820 in Biddulph Staffordshire and obtained a marriage license 26 Nov 1849 in St. Mary, Parish Church, Astbury, Cheshire. He died 1 Jul 1904 in Biddulph Staffordshire.

Employed as a Collier 1859, he also was a farmer of 4 acres 1881-1891, I’m assuming he inherited this land from his father who also farmed land.
Baptismal records 01 Oct 1820 @ Biddulph Parish Church, but his name is spelt Shawcross in the register. Derivations in names are common due to poor writing and the fact that most people didn’t know how to write them selves, so if the registrar spelled it wrong that’s how it remained!
In 1849 he resided, Dane in Shaw, Chester and in 1851 Near Gibacre.
The Census of 1881 he resided in Congleton Road, Biddulph, and in 1891 he resided at Mow Cop, Biddulph Staffs;

At Biddulph Parish Church. Staffordshire and obtained a marriage license 26 Nov 1849, Hannah was born 25 Sep 1830 she died 1 Aug 1904 and was buried 3 Aug 1904 at St, Lawrence Church Biddulph Staffordshire.

They had the following children:

Herbert SHALLCROSS was born 7 Sep 1858 and died 6 Jun 1929. Hebert is my Great granddad.

Hannah SHALLCROSS¹ was born 23 Jun 1850 in Biddulph Parish Church Staffordshire and obtained a marriage license Never.
